This guide shows how to do the following:<\/p>\n

  1. Add phone number extensions to Outlook Contact items.<\/li>\n
  2. Sync phone numbers with extensions using CiraSync so users in your tenant can call these numbers with the extension already dialed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    \n\t\t\t\t\t
    \u00a0NOTE:\u00a0<\/strong>Caller ID will not work for GAL contacts with extensions. This is because the format of Outlook Contact Extensions does not match the format of the GAL.<\/div><\/div>\n

    <\/span>Instructions<\/span><\/h2>\n

    <\/span>Adding Phone Numbers with Extensions to Outlook Contacts<\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Log in to either Outlook Desktop or Outlook on the web. In this example, use Outlook Desktop.<\/li>\n
    2. Click the People<\/strong> icon at the bottom of the left-hand navigation panel to go to People View.<\/li>\n
    3. Select the Contact Folder with the desired contact.<\/li>\n
    4. Right-click the contact you want to edit.<\/li>\n
    5. Click Edit Contact. <\/strong>(See figure below.) \"\"<\/li>\n
    6. Click one of the drop-down arrows that isn\u2019t for Business <\/strong>under Phone numbers. <\/strong><\/li>\n
    7. Select Business 2. <\/strong><\/li>\n
    8. Input the inbound number in the Business<\/strong><\/li>\n
    9. Input the inbound number+,,,,+extension in Business 2. <\/strong>(See figure below.)\"\"<\/li>\n
    10. Click Save & Close <\/strong>at the top-left corner of the window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      <\/span>Syncing Phone Number with Extensions with CiraSync<\/span><\/h2>\n
        \n
      1. Log in to the CiraSync dashboard.<\/li>\n
      2. Click the username in the top-right corner of the dashboard.<\/li>\n
      3. Click SETTINGS.<\/strong> (See figure below.) \"\"<\/li>\n
      4. Click Contact Fields.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      5. Scroll down to BusinessPhone <\/strong>and BusinessPhone2.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      6. Check Overwrite <\/strong>and Clear<\/strong> in both rows.<\/li>\n
      7. Click\u00a0SAVE.<\/strong> (See figure below.) \"\"<\/li>\n
      8. Click the CiraSync logo to return to the tenant dashboard.<\/li>\n
      9. Check Update Cache<\/strong> under the Sync Status\u00a0<\/strong>pane.<\/li>\n
