Every time you want to contact a colleague, you have to remember to search within Outlook first. It&#8217;s frustrating and time-consuming.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, this method is more of a workaround than a real solution. I will also show how to fix them.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-problem-1-i-can-t-see-gal-contacts-in-my-phone-s-contacts-app\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Problem_1_%E2%80%9CI_Cant_See_GAL_Contacts_in_My_Phones_Contacts_App%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Problem 1: \u201cI Can\u2019t See GAL Contacts in My Phone\u2019s Contacts App\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, you may set up everything correctly, but your organization\u2019s employees say, \u201cI can\u2019t see GAL contacts in my phone\u2019s Contacts app.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By default, Microsoft prevents company contacts from syncing to personal contact lists for security reasons.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So end users will never be able to access GAL contacts on their Android Contact app.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What the IT Team Can Do:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IT team can only<strong> <\/strong>ask employees to find colleagues through the Outlook app. Then, they need to manually add important contacts to their personal list.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now this is time-consuming, and you need to train your employees.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And just imagine the mess if your organization has 2,000+ employees. Your company may have changed server settings.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that Microsoft reduced this GAL search in Outlook in 2024, so it might just be worse than it used to be, not broken.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-problem-3-i-can-t-set-up-exchange-activesync\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Problem_3_%E2%80%9CI_Cant_Set_Up_Exchange_ActiveSync%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Problem 3: \u201cI Can\u2019t Set Up Exchange ActiveSync\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Getting \u201cCan&#8217;t verify account\u201d errors?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What the IT Team Can Do:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use these settings:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Server is <a href=\"http:\/\/outlook.office365.com\">outlook.office365.com<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Username is your full email address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable SSL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use port 443<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/us.community.samsung.com\/t5\/Galaxy-S22\/S22-Error-creating-Microsoft-Exchange-ActiveSync-account\/td-p\/2601545\">Samsung S21 and S22<\/a> have known issues and might need special workarounds.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If that\u2019s not working, your IT department might need to approve your device in their admin center or check if it got blocked for some reason.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-problem-4-gal-search-used-to-work-but-stopped\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Problem_4_%E2%80%9CGAL_Search_Used_to_Work_But_Stopped%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Problem 4: \u201cGAL Search Used to Work But Stopped\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This happened to lots of people in 2024.
