If you are using CiraSync to sync Office 365 contact subfolders, they may not show up on your smartphone. This usually occurs on older iOS and Android devices. There are two solutions available for this problem:
The following procedures shows how to enable Native Sync on smart devices.
Instructions
Enabling Native Sync for Smartphones
- Log in to the CiraSync tenant dashboard.
- Click the username at the top of the dashboard.
- Click SETTINGS. (See figure below.)
The CiraSync settings will open. (See figure below.)
- Click Native Sync in the menu on the right. The Native Sync Settings will open. (See figure below.)
- Click the Allow Native Sync checkbox.
- Click SAVE. NOTE: If you click the Auto Enable Native Sync checkbox after the Allow Native Sync checkbox, Native Sync will be automatically enabled on user smart devices when they first log in to the CiraSync dashboard. If this checkbox isn’t clicked, the following instructions shows tenant users how to manually enable Native Sync on smart devices.
Enabling Native Sync for iOS Devices
- Download the CiraSync Public Folder App for Office 365 from the Apple App Store.NOTE: The CiraSync Public Folder App for Office 365 is not a replacement for the CiraSync dashboard. The app does not sync contacts and calendars—it only populates the smartphone native address book with information from the source.
- Launch the app.
- Provide your Office 365 email. You will be taken to the Office 365 login page.
- Enter your password. CiraSync will ask for permission to access your iPhone.NOTE: CiraSync does not read, store, or use any user personal information. Learn more about how CiraSync handles user data at the CiraSync security page.
- Tap the ellipsis in the bottom-right corner of the app > View Settings.
- Tap the slider next to Native Sync to enable Native Sync. The CiraSync Mobile app populates the native address book with the listed sources. (See figure below.)
Enabling Native Sync for Android Devices
- Download the CiraSync Public Folder App for Office 365 from the Google Play Store. NOTE: The CiraSync Public Folder App for Office 365 is not a replacement for the CiraSync dashboard. The app does not sync contacts and calendars—it only populates the smartphone native address book with information from the source.
- Launch the app.
- Provide your Office 365 email. You will be taken to the Office 365 login page.
- Enter your O365 password. CiraSync will ask for permission to access your O365 account. (See figure below.)
- Tap Accept. NOTE: Do not check the Consent on behalf of your organization box.
- Tap Allow when CiraSync asks for permission to access your contacts and calendars.
- Tap ellipsis on the bottom-right corner of the app > View Settings.
- Tap the slider next to Native Sync to enable Native Sync. The CiraSync Mobile app then populates the native address book with the listed sources.
