FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CiraSync On-Prem Adds CardDAV Support to Simplify Mobile Contact Delivery for IT Teams

New Standards-Based Protocol Eliminates Reliance on Outlook Mobile App and Exchange ActiveSync Workarounds

Austin, Texas  July 15, 2026 — CiraSync, a leading provider of automated contact and calendar sync solutions for Microsoft 365, today announced that CiraSync On-Prem (CSOP) v15.0.1 now supports CardDAV, giving IT teams a standards-based way to deliver corporate contacts to managed mobile devices without depending on the Outlook mobile app or legacy Exchange ActiveSync configurations.

The addition addresses a persistent pain point for organizations managing large iOS and Android fleets: keeping mobile directories accurate without adding app management overhead or working around brittle ActiveSync setups in hybrid Exchange environments.

Why CardDAV Matters for Mobile Fleet Management

CardDAV is an open, HTTP-based protocol built natively into Apple iOS, meaning no third-party app is required on iPhone or iPad. Android does not include a complete native CardDAV stack, so CiraSync provides a dedicated CardDAV Direct companion app, available on Google Play, to close that gap.

With CSOP v15.0.1, organizations can push Global Address List contacts directly to managed devices through any major MDM platform, including Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, MobileIron, SOTI, Jamf, and Mosyle. Deployment covers four areas: infrastructure setup, IIS configuration for a dedicated CardDAV endpoint, CSOP collection configuration, and MDM profile deployment and validation.

This approach gives IT and security teams centralized, auditable control over mobile contact delivery, a capability increasingly relevant for organizations with compliance or governance requirements around directory data.

Who Benefits

CardDAV support is most immediately useful for organizations that manage large iOS and Android fleets through an MDM platform, need to deliver Global Address List contacts to mobile devices without requiring Outlook, are running hybrid Exchange or migrating to Microsoft 365, and have compliance requirements that call for centralized, auditable contact management without reliance on third-party mobile apps.

Setup Guide Available Now

CiraSync has published a complete step-by-step setup guide covering all ten deployment steps, from upgrading CSOP and configuring DNS and TLS to IIS module installation, Winsock port mapping, MDM profile deployment for iOS and Android, and a troubleshooting quick reference table. IT teams can download the guide at https://cirasync.com/carddav-setup-on-prem.
