AUSTIN, TX – January 1, 2025 – Vegvisir Capital Partners (“Vegvisir”), a private equity firm specializing in B2B technology investments, announced its acquisition of a majority stake in Cira Apps Limited. (“Cira Apps”), a leading provider of contact and calendar syncing solutions for Microsoft 365 organizations.
The transaction, which closed in June 2024 and was supported by financing provided by Origami Capital Partners, marks a significant milestone in Cira Apps’ growth trajectory and reinforces its position as a market leader in enterprise productivity tools.
Accelerating Growth and Innovation
The funding supports Cira Apps’ growth initiatives, including building a high-performing sales team, expanding software development resources, establishing customer success and partner support teams, and acquiring complementary technology solutions.
“Cira Apps represents the type of innovative, customer-focused technology company that aligns perfectly with Vegvisir’s investment thesis,” said Kyle Reesing, Managing Partner at Vegvisir Capital Partners. “We’re excited to support the Company’s next phase of growth and help expand its market leadership position in enterprise productivity solutions.”
“I’ve built Cira Apps over the span of a decade so when I chose to bring in an investment and operational partner, I chose amongst the options very carefully”, said Vern Weitzman, Founder and current CTO/CIO of Cira Apps. “My secret sauce for building this great company was to always ensure we focused on the IT teams at our customers, to think like them and to interpret their needs and how we could deliver value to them.
I’m very pleased with the investment by Vegvisir and I’m enjoying my new role at the company, while also guiding it strategically by being on the board of directors. Our new CEO and I think alike, given our similar technology backgrounds, and it’s been a remarkable experience to see how the company has grown since June.”
“As the incoming CEO, now through my first six months, I can’t express enough my admiration for the technology and team that Vern has built over the years since he founded the business”, says Neil Wainwright, CEO, Cira Apps. “We’ve made a lot of positive changes already, from adding great sales, customer success and partnership teams, to the changes in internal systems to better support our customers. I inherited a great suite of stable products, and we’re now on the path of accelerating the development of new capabilities, both based on our own research and also what our customers are asking us for.
We’ll keep up the pace, always with a focus on delighting our customers with a strong, feature-rich and stable product line. The best compliment we get is customers saying they only log into CiraSync every few months, because everything is so automated, and at an enterprise scale.
I feel truly fortunate to be here working with this talented team, and I will never slowdown in my drive to deliver value to our customers, including their delight with us, and in supporting our teams that make that possible. We are just getting started.”
Cira Apps: The Market Leader
Cira Apps continues to be the market leader in contact and calendar syncing within Microsoft 365 organizations, and we are now investing in our product at an accelerated pace, to the benefit of our thousands of customers across 150+ industries in over 45 countries. Cira Apps is dedicated to IT teams and their end users. Construction companies, law firms, professional sports teams, retail companies, government agencies, and more all use Cira Apps products, including CiraSync, CiraHub, CiraSync On Premise and SyncGene.
CiraSync is Cira Apps’ most popular solution which automatically synchronizes Microsoft 365 Global Address List (GAL) contacts, shared calendars, and notes to business smartphones, ensuring teams always have access to the latest information, including on their smartphones.
Part of Neil Wainwright’s philosophy, honed through decades of work in technology and SaaS CEO leadership, is best expressed by a phrase he uses all the time with customers. “The answer is yes, just go ahead and ask the question”. Either Cira Apps has already said yes to prior customers, so the feature already exists, or the current customer just gave Cira Apps a great idea and they would be happy to add it at no cost to the customer.
Cira Apps looks forward to delighting their customers and partners in the years and decades ahead.
