Global Administrator:
A Global Admin is a user with the highest level of administrative access, having the ability to manage all aspects of the tenant and its associated resources, including users, groups, applications, and security settings.
Granular Control:
A feature in CiraSync that selectively filters out fields and targets specific lists to specific contacts, ensuring that not every user has access to every contact or field.

Merged Contact:

Obsolete Contact:

Office 365 Mailbox:
A user's personal storage space within Microsoft 365 that holds email messages, calendar events, contacts, tasks, and other related data, accessible through Microsoft Outlook or other email clients.
One-to-Many Synchronization:
One-to-Many Synchronization is a way of keeping data consistent across multiple databases or systems. One database sends updates to several other databases, so they all have the same information. CiraSync transfers data from a single source to multiple users, functioning as a centrally managed distribution tool.
On-Premise Gateway (source option under sync tunnel):
A connector in CiraSync Cloud that allows synchronization with CiraSync On-Premise (itrezzo UCM) software configuration, enabling the export of data dictionary, MCL, calendars, and collections.

Public Folder:

Service Account:
A Service Account is a dedicated account created for running automated services, applications, or scripts that require authentication and authorized access to specific resources, without being tied to an individual user's identity or permissions.
Shared Mailbox:
A mailbox that multiple users can access and use to send and receive email messages, without the need for a separate login.
Source:
The origin or primary location from which data is synchronized or transferred.
Streamer:
A type of synchronization schedule in CiraSync's Cloud that runs multiple times a day, looking for changes in the source (contacts and calendars) and pushing those changes to users without first reading data on the user side.
Synchronization:
The process of ensuring that data in different locations or applications is consistent and up-to-date across different sources or platforms.
Synchronization Frequency:
How often data is synced. CiraSync enables synchronization of multiple contact lists and shared calendars to business smartphones, with a frequency of multiple syncs per day.
Sync Photo:
A feature that enables the synchronization of contact photos along with other contact information.

The destination or recipient system to which data is synchronized or transferred.
Tenant (Microsoft 365):
A dedicated and trusted instance of Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) that is automatically created when an organization signs up for a Microsoft cloud service subscription, such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, or Microsoft Dynamics 365. It contains users, groups, and applications specific to the organization and allows the organization to manage access to its resources.

Update Cache:
The process of refreshing or updating the stored data in a cache to ensure it is current and consistent with the source data.
Unidirectional Synchronization:
A one-way data synchronization process where changes made in the source system are synchronized to the target system, but any changes made directly in the target system are not reflected back to the source. CiraSync operates in a unidirectional manner, meaning if a user alters information on their phone, these changes will not be updated in the GAL. However, if contact data in the GAL is modified, the user's smartphone will reflect these updates.
User Customization:
Users have the ability to customize data synchronization settings in CiraSync, including update frequency, synchronization type, and any necessary filters for the contacts.
User Mailbox:
This refers to an individual user's storage on an Exchange Server. It includes all the email, calendar appointments, tasks, and contacts associated with a specific account.
